During my first drive up to the Central Coast this year, I was amazed at all the things I forgot. It was difficult to capture any decent images from the backseat of a speeding car. Can't really tell here, but this whole area is covered with these oil mining devices. There is an unfathomable number of these. Makes me wish I could afford a hydrogen powered car.
Sometimes, it seems to me that it is set up so you must be rich in order to live an eco-friendly life. I can't afford solar panels, I can't afford a hybrid car (which is such a cop-out anyhow), I can't afford the many "luxuries" of living a sustainable life. But I do what I can.

Eh, hydrogen is nice and clean but not realistic yet. The infrastructure just isn't there yet. :/
What I want to see is ways to convert expended heat back into usable energy. So much energy is lost as heat from vehicles.
I wish you'd had the time to get out and take pics of that field.
Physics says you can't convert degraded energy (energy lost as heat) back into useful energy. But many "laws" of physics are in the process of being disproved. Figure it out and you'll be rich. Some American car company, I forget which , is making a hydrogen-powered "skateboard" which is a frame for a variety of cars. Sounds nice, but who knows. I'd like to see a car powered by trash like Back to the Future.
That mining field is off the 46 if you're ever heading that direction.
